Dr. John specializes in chiropractic care for expecting mothers and families. For expecting mothers, can also see Webster Technique and Prenatal/Postnatal Chiropractic sections.  For your family, it is important to seek out a chiropractor who specializes in helping infants, children, and adolescents.  Children are not simply, little adults when it comes to chiropractic care.  While adults may seek chiropractic care for issues like pain, stiffness, degeneration, children present with different concerns and issues.  You do not need symptoms or problems to be evaluated for chiropractic care.   Dr. John can evaluate you using multiple indicators from Gonstead Technique, Chiropractic Biophysics, Sacro Occipital Technique/craniosacral, functional movement, and Webster Technique, among others.

Infants or children cannot always tell you what is bothering them but you may notice changes:

  • changes in behavior or irritability
  • difficulty sleeping
  • urinary or bowel movement changes
  • frequent colds or sinus infections
  • breast feeding or latching issues
  • restricted or asymmetrical head or torso movements
  • alteration in standing or sitting posture, such as slumped shoulders, forward lean, sideways lean, uneven hips, unlevel shoulders.

Oftentimes, people do not seek help until their condition worsens. It’s easier to help at the onset of symptoms, so they do not progress.  Ideally, it’s best to get your spine and joints checked before you develop symptoms, however, it just seems to be human nature, as most people come to see Dr. John for some type of symptom or issue.

Alternatively, many people experience chronic issues which lingered after an injury, or started gradually and progressed until they profoundly affect our daily lives.   According to the American Academy of Pain Medicine (AAPM), “Chronic pain affects more Americans than diabetes, heart disease and cancer combined.”

If you are experiencing issues, Dr. John is happy to help!
